.Occupational Therapist - PRN FloatYOUR JOB IS MORE THAN A JOBThe Occupational Therapist PRN provides occupational therapy services to all patients including evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, education and documentation. Works with patients to help them achieve a fulfilled and satisfied state in life through the use of purposeful activity or interventions designed to achieve occupational outcomes which promote health, prevent injury or disability to develop, improve, sustain or restore the highest possible level of independence.This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this department. This is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities, and LCMC Health reserves the right to amend and change responsibilities to meet organizational needs as necessary.GENERAL DUTIESPatient evaluation and interpretation of findings: Gathers necessary information from appropriate people and records, and demonstrates effective utilization of staff resources. Choose appropriate forms of evaluation. Interprets evaluation findings. Sets goals according to findings and patient input.Implementation of treatment plan: Develops and implements a treatment plan that is appropriate for the diagnosis and population of the patient. Re-assesses and revises goals and treatment plan as indicated by patient's status. Teaches the patient and/or family members occupational therapy skills and techniques.Documentation of services provided: Uses approved terminology, forms, and programs for documentation. Completes documentation within the required time frames. Accurately documents charges according to services provided.Education and training: Provides education to patients and family members. Assists with student supervision, teaching, community education, and staff education.Communication and coordination of goals and treatment plan: Participates in team conferences and communicates with the patient and family members. Collaborates with team members on various Occupational Therapy initiatives.EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS- 1 year of experience as an occupational therapist.EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS- Graduate of OT program.LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS- Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of Louisiana through the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners (LSBME).- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.WORK SHIFT: Days (United States of America)LCMC Health is a community.Our people make health happen.
