Our opportunity Reporting to the regional head of Networks, the Senior Network Engineer will play a key role within our experienced EMEA network team.
Supporting our current and future business connectivity requirements, working with our network service providers and multiple cross-functional internal teams including Network Security, Cloud teams, and Advanced OPs to develop and manage scalable, secure, and resilient connectivity infrastructure.
We are looking for someone with a passion for tool optimisation and automation, and who has previous experience of implementing and supporting SDWAN solutions.
Your role As a Senior Network Engineer your main responsibilities will involve: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define requirements and design specifications for dynamic network solutions for both business and network projects.
Review internal and external supplier proposals and quotations and perform the technical validation of supplier solutions to ensure that they are in line with company technology standards.
Actively seek opportunities for functional and process improvement via automation and network identification and detection.
Investigate and support troubleshooting efforts on SDWAN, WAN, LAN, and wireless network technical issues.
Support governance and improvements in capacity, demand, release and lifecycle, change and incident management activity from a network perspective.
Provide guidance and recommendations on SDWAN and automation solutions to the Network team.
Document network environments and develop and deploy network policy documents.
Your Skills and Experience As a Senior Network Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years of experience in network engineering roles.
Excellent understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, and core technologies such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, ACLs, IPSEC, DNS, etc.
Knowledge in WAN/LAN Network Architecture and Operations including Firewalls, Routers, and Switches.
Prior experience with design, deployment, and support of SD-WAN solutions (ideally CISCO or PaloAlto).
Strong understanding of network security technologies such as NAC (preferably CISCO), firewalls, VPNs (preferably PaloAlto).
Experience in tuning/optimising network monitoring, logging, and anomaly detection tools such as Netbrain, Extrahop, Splunk, Dynatrace, Thousandeyes.
Scripting and API utilisation experience (preferably Python, Xsoar, ServiceNow).
Experience in complex troubleshooting connectivity issues in both cloud and traditional network environments (packet captures, network tracing, log analysis, etc).
Experience working within a geographically distributed IT team spread across multiple time zones.
