The Global Network Delivery organization is looking to hire a highly motivated Network Deployment Planner to join our growing Planning and Implementation team within AWS Data Center Delivery. The team responsibilities involve scoping and planning interdependent capacity scaling projects and new network capacity deployments across several data center locations.The Network Deployment Planner will work closely with infrastructure supply chain & procurement, network engineering, and technical program managers to plan and deliver customer capacity to the local data center installation & deployment technicians.The ideal candidate will possess a technology background that enables them to understand the complexities of the sophisticated network architecture of Amazon data centers. They must be highly autonomous, detail-oriented, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and have experience in managing network deployment projects. Competence in networking principles, data center operations, cable infrastructure, and fiber solutions is essential.This position will provide the individual with high levels of autonomous work with minimal supervision to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks.Key job responsibilitiesEnsure adherence to timelines.Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes always with an eye on improvement.Work closely with Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, Network Engineers, and Technical Project Manager teams.Knowledge of network cabling and optic types.Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.Familiarity with common networking terms.Excellent judgement and analytical skills, ability to prioritize tasks based on fluctuating needs.Coordination of design, project timeline/schedule, and construction milestones.Experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS5+ years data center networking experience working with optics and bulk fiber.3+ years experience working with large scaling infrastructure deployments.3+ years experience working with 3rd party vendors on large projects.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS5+ years data center networking experience working with optics, bulk fiber AND a firm understanding of power and cooling.5+ years experience working with large scaling infrastructure deployments.3+ years of experience working new data center builds.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
