We are currently hiring for a Sustaining Product Engineer based in our Madrid office.
The Sustaining Product Engineer will be responsible for all engineering aspects of products assigned, will contribute toward cost, quality, and productivity improvements working with global and locally-based cross-functional teams and provide engineering support to the operation and supply chain cells.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage engineering sustaining projects as assigned for improving product cost, quality, and delivery.Responsible for quality improvements and cost reductions of assigned products through VA/VE and other PCIS activities, sharing responsibility meeting departmental and cross-functional cost reduction goals.Submit and conduct validation tests in the test lab to ensure products meet life and performance requirements.Address and resolve customer problems related to product design.Provide engineering support for product performance and design issues within the production cells.Review products to ensure they meet performance expectations during engineering changes.Maintain positive working relationships with cross-functional teams including marketing, project management, sourcing, purchasing, quality, and operations.Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, customers, distributors, and sales personnel.Work with operators and other engineers on shift to troubleshoot defect/contamination sources and to determine proper repair techniques.Handle customer escalations, conduct remote sessions, troubleshoot production issues, and reproduce customer issues in the laboratory.Interact with customers, marketing, and sales as required to capture user needs and look for opportunities to improve products.Investigate product complaints from customer sites, perform root cause analysis of failures, and propose remediation in a timely fashion.Create strategy for the verification of the corrective designs and participate in verification activities.Source parts as required, manage vendor issues as needed with Operations & Supply chain teams.Contribute to risk management content such as FMEA, PFMEA and hazard analysis.Who we are looking forAn Industrial Engineer with a Degree in Engineering, Mechanical preferred and a minimum of 3 years of experience.Well versed in PTC Creo or equivalent 3D software tools, as well as FEA analysis techniques.Ability to manage concurrent projects independently in a team environment.Demonstrated ability to lead & manage an engineering group based in different locations worldwide.Hands-on and ability to conduct tests in the development laboratory.
Mechanical aptitude including ability to use common shop tools and measurement equipment.Language: Spanish and English (written and verbal) is a must have.Required SkillsRequired Experience
