As an experienced medical leader with clinical or scientific experience in oncology, the position holder will be responsible for the medical strategy development and execution of key deliverables to develop further multiple identified positive indications, build the associated medical plans to support their development further, leading to medical strategies to enable the launch of assets/brands and find opportunities to extend the lifecycle management of brands globally.The position holder will work across multiple internal and external collaborators and will contribute to key decisions in regards to brand marketing direction, as well as, where applicable, research and development direction. As a member of the Global Medical Senior Leadership Team, the position holder will contribute significantly beyond their asset remit to setting and delivery of wider medical strategic direction for the tumor area.Typical AccountabilitiesLeads on the global strategy from Oncology brand medical perspective across multiple indications within the Tumor area.Will work across Tumor areas at a brand/asset level to ensure tumor and brand strategies align to ensure the maximum medical impact.Will be a key member of the Tumor Global Medical Senior Leadership Team, shaping tumor level strategy and priorities.Responsible for ensuring brands/multiple indications within area of responsibility, have strategic medical plans in place to ensure appropriate financial and resource planning.Will have Medical accountability for strategic external partnerships and alliances management for the development and launch of brands.Leads and is accountable for the development and execution of the asset specific medical tactical plan aligned to strategy.Is accountable for setting the Real World Evidence and External KEE engagement strategies.Leads the Tumor/Asset Global Medical Team (GMT) engaging and influencing in market medical teams.If appointed, will represent medical at a Global Product Team level on key decisions regarding Asset direction/strategy and prioritisation.Will engage with multiple senior stakeholders including SET level executives to provide insights, data, launch plans and recommendations.Will represent AstraZeneca at a Global level as key external events, congresses, scientific symposia's etc.Partners closely with colleagues in the Markets, OBU-Medical, Late and Early-Stage Development, Global Marketing, Global Strategy, Regulatory Affairs, Payer, Health Outcomes and other key functions.Act as (or delegate to another GMAL on the team) Medical Study lead for GMA-sponsored Tumor/brand/asset-multi-indication cancer studies.Providing medical leadership to support to Health Authority (HA) and Investigational Review Board (IRB) regulatory interactions.Leads or coordinates a diverse range of initiatives to improve decision making within the marketing, research and development function.
