Lead Control & Instrumentation Engineer Role Context: Lead Discipline Engineer provides discipline team supervision on projects by directing project execution activities and discipline deliverable creation for one larger or several smaller projects.
Accountable for the safe/sustainable engineering, quality, cost, and schedule delivery of all work by the discipline.
Completes discipline technical work for projects, as time permits.
Typically reports to Line management to the Discipline Manager.
Project reporting to the Project Manager or Engineering Manager.
You'll be: Assisting Business Development activities by maintaining an up-to-date personal profile and resume. Building positive working relationships with external parties such as the customer, suppliers, and contractors. Supporting proposals by developing the discipline execution strategy, estimating costs, writing proposal content, and presenting to customers. Communicating team resource loading and skill requirements to the Discipline Manager. Ensuring the project work is covered for vacation and unplanned absences. Mentoring/training and supporting the delivery of training. Ensuring team member adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. Supporting the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates. Acting as the Lead Discipline Engineer, participating in project execution strategy and planning. Enabling data gathering and the preparation of engineering studies, analyses, calculations, etc. Ensuring relevant information is incorporated into equipment/material specifications, data sheets, testing requirements, and material requisitions. Participating in constructability, operability, and maintainability reviews, and ensuring that requirements are incorporated into design. You'll have: Varying levels of experience.
Will have knowledge of the principles and practices within the discipline.
Training in risk management or quality.
