Role Purpose
Working in the Unified Communications and Connectivity (UCC) Product Practice, you will be responsible for the 'UCC Platform' Strategy & Architecture that delivers resource orchestration, resource assurance and automation of the Vodafone Group UC, CPAAS, SDN and NFV products through integration with Vodafone Business IT (VBIT) platforms and Technology Management Systems. This is a critical Vodafone Group role, where through your leadership, in the next 12-18 months, you will be responsible for developments to deliver: Digital CXX; Automation; and foundations for Intent Based Network.
A pivotal technical leadership role, working with vendors and internal Vodafone stakeholders to determine options and associated business benefits. During developments, you will fulfil the (Agile) System Architect role, ensuring that your platform vision is delivered, while effectively prioritizing the broader product backlog. To enable this, you must be adept at creating a culture for effective collaboration and be able to communicate complex issues and their business impact for all stakeholders to understand.
Responsibilities:
- UCC Product Practice OSS & Automation Strategy that is aligned with Vodafone Business IT and key business stakeholders to deliver the product road-map.
- Through working with operational stakeholders, detail the Business benefits of UCC OSS and automation capabilities, with consideration to impact on operating model.
- As the (Agile) System Architect, responsible for defining and communicating a shared technical and architectural vision for an Agile Release Train (ART) to ensure the system or Solution under development is fit for its intended purpose, robust, secure and scalable.
What you bring:
- University degree in electrical / electronic / telecommunications engineering or similar.
- Experience of design, implementation and roll out of telecoms services, preferably gained in an international environment/global context.
- Detailed knowledge of resource management Platforms (Orchestration, Assurance, Inventory and reporting) to deliver automation.
- Experience in design and deployment of Automation and resource management Platforms with knowledge in:
- Commercial orchestrators & service assurance platforms such as those provided by Ciena, Netcracker & Ericsson.
- Open Source and Enterprise versions of components that support data collection, processing, reporting, visualization and automation such as: ELK; syslog-ng; Prometheus; Grafana; Neo4j; Camunda; Ansible; ONAP and Kafka.
- Key API protocols such as Netconf, REST & TMF.
- Orchestration-related scripting languages - TOSCA, HEAT.
- Integration with domain controllers that deliver UC and SD-WAN products as VNF's on uCPE and Public Cloud.
- Cloud Computing and Infrastructure (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Proven experience in technical delivery leadership of complex IT solutions.
- Demonstrable experience of senior stakeholder engagement, effective at managing ambiguity and conflict resolution.
- Familiar with SW Development processes, management and lifecycle (CI/CD).
- Agile/SAFE delivery methodology.
