.JOB DESCRIPTION:The Genomics and transcriptomics of synucleinopathies (GTS) group focuses on the molecular characterization of Lewy body diseases. Over the past 10 years we have specialized in dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) with the goal to provide novel diagnostic markers. Now, we are looking for a young entrepreneur for an ambitious project with an important social impact, especially for patients. You will be involved in all aspects of the project focusing on evaluating subjects with DLB, discovering novel biomarkers for Lewy body disorders, starting with patient selection and including biomarker validation, data analyses and the establishment of databases. This entirely translational research project aims to offer solutions for patients, clinicians, and the development of therapeutic strategies.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor of Medicine.Specialty in Neurology.Experience in sample handling and processing, preferably related to serum and plasma.Proficient in developing research protocols in health sciences.Proficient in database entry with REDCap environment.Will to perform the doctorate as a result of scientific publications related to neurodegenerative-related biomarkers.Strong knowledge of database management and data analyses (Excel and SPSS).Strong level of English both read and written.To be positively evaluated:Possess strong analytical problem-solving skills (creative, critical, thinking out-of-the-box).Ability to work independently and take initiative, actively participate in the team, be accurate, have a strong sense of responsibility, and demonstrate perseverance and ambition to learn. Good oral and written communication skills.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:Stay updated on the most relevant articles published on the topic.Coordinate the circuit of patient recruitment and sample obtaining.Conduct neurological and, if needed, neuropsychological evaluations of patients to be included in the current project.Organize and perform sample obtaining and processing.Update databases in REDCap.Follow the research protocols for biomarker validation.Conduct data analysis and interpretation and prepare data for presentation.Discuss results with the other researchers of the project.Attend external meetings and report results.Write the articles derived from this research.WHAT WE OFFER:Part-time contract (hours to be negotiated with the applicant).Date of incorporation: October 1.Gross annual remuneration inherent to the position will be fixed based on the experience provided and the skills of the candidate, distributed in 12 payments.Flexible payment (childminding vouchers).Training capsules by the company.Be part of an excellent multidisciplinary research centre with the HRS4R badge.Location on the Can Ruti Campus, a first-class translational research environment in the Barcelona area, in a very stimulating scientific environment
