The Role We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic Network Operations Engineer who is committed to their work, and should be comfortable working in a fast paced, highly flexible environment. The role will work on a 24/7 shift rotation where engineers will be responsible for ensuring maximum possible service availability and performance for Cubic's customers. Sitting within the Network Engineering team, Network Operations are responsible for monitoring, managing and maintaining the network, driving incident management and delivering technical support and customer service as part of the overall Network organisation. Responsibilities of this role: Support the introduction of new services, ensuring they meet technical and performance standards. Work closely with Cubic vendors to guarantee that services are delivered and perform as required. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and Cubic customers to promptly resolve service-affecting issues, ensuring minimal disruption. Support in the design of new services from a technical perspective, ensuring feasibility and alignment with business objectives. Work with Mobile Network Operator (MNO) partners to facilitate the introduction of new services and manage changes on both Cubic and MNO sides. Support team members by sharing knowledge and expertise, fostering a collaborative environment. Where necessary, schedule and execute network maintenance activities, including upgrades and migrations, to ensure ongoing network health. Handle escalations from Level 2 and Level 3 support tickets related to customer issues, working towards timely and effective resolutions. Support the enforcement of change, release, incident, and problem management processes to ensure consistency, minimise service disruptions, and maintain network stability. Essential Experience and Qualifications Minimum of 4 years' experience working in the core network domain. Ability to work unsupervised, effectively prioritise tasks, and take ownership of task completion. Exceptional troubleshooting skills, with a proven ability to resolve complex technical issues independently. Strong understanding of CS Core and PS Core components (e.G., DNS, HLR/HSS, PGW/GMSC, DRA, STP, OCS, PCRF, SMSC). Knowledge of mobile roaming solutions and related technologies. Experience in defining, managing, and improving KPIs, with a focus on performance metrics.
