About the role
As a Naval Technician, you will an important role in maintaining and optimizing the mechanical systems of vessels equipped with our wind propulsion technology. This hands-on position involves both on-board and land-based work, focusing on the mechanical aspects of vessel operations, troubleshooting, and the upkeep of machinery. You will also ensure that our propulsion systems integrate seamlessly with the vessel's mechanical operations, contributing to our mission of enhancing sustainability at sea.
Key Responsibilities Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical systems aboard vessels, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of vessel machinery, focusing on propulsion systems, engines, and other essential components.Work closely with vessel operators to ensure that mechanical systems comply with operational standards and safety regulations.Perform mechanical inspections and diagnostics, providing recommendations for upgrades and maintenance to improve vessel performance.Collaborate with shipyard teams and external vendors during repairs, modifications, and installations.Assist in ensuring that all mechanical systems align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.Support the integration and maintenance of Bound4blue's eSail technology, ensuring seamless interaction with vessel mechanics.Document all maintenance activities and repair work, maintaining accurate logs for vessel records.Required Competencies Technical training in Marine Mechanics, Marine Engineering, or related fields.Proven experience working on mechanical systems aboard vessels, including propulsion systems, engines, and auxiliary equipment.Hands-on experience in vessel maintenance, shipyards, or mechanical system repairs is essential.Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills related to mechanical and operational issues.Knowledge of maritime safety standards and regulatory compliance is preferred.Sailing experience is an advantage but not mandatory.Availability to travel and work away from home between 90 to 120 days a year.Fluency in both Spanish and English.What Awaits You Hands-on Impact: Your work will be directly responsible for maintaining the operational efficiency and mechanical integrity of vessels, ensuring smooth integration of our eSail technology.A Growing Market: As we expand our reach in Europe and beyond, your contributions will support the maritime industry's transition toward more sustainable operations.Collaboration & Innovation: Work closely with a dedicated team of engineers, technicians, and operators on exciting projects in cutting-edge maritime technology.Join us and contribute to changing the future of ship propulsion!
