The Role: Natural Language Processing (NLP) DeveloperMedBioinformatics is expanding its research & development team to incorporate an NLP developer. The candidate will support our team in developing and maintaining the NLP infrastructure of the company.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will join our scientific team to contribute to:
Optimize the company's NLP pipeline, implementing new features including state-of-the-art approaches in NLP, and the extension of the pipeline to other areas of interest of the company (toxicology, among others)Improve the performance of key modules of the pipeline for entity recognition, relation extraction, and document classification, among othersActively participate in the development of new functionalities in the company products and services based on combining LLM and knowledge graphs through retrieval augmented generation approachesRequired ExperienceProficient in NLP techniques and methodologiesStrong expertise in Python programming languageExperienced in developing text mining workflowsSkilled in fine-tuning language models such as BERTFamiliarity with GenAI and LLMFamiliarity with the HuggingFace ecosystem for NLP tasksCompetent in PyTorch and TensorFlow frameworksPossesses general knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniquesSpecialization in the biomedical domain is a plus but not a must haveAt least 2-3 years working experienceIn addition, the candidate is expected to be:Comfortable working in a start-up environment, where a pragmatic, resourceful, well-organized, and effective approach is required with limited resourcesA hands-on, decisive approach and a proven ability to work independently and as a team playerHave excellent communication skills in EnglishHave a high level of self-management and organizational skills
