We are a small, newly created language centre in Marin, Pontevedra, Spain. We specialise in teaching English at all levels and to all ages, although other languages are also offered. Marin is a large town with an important port and naval base on the north west coast of Spain. It is about 3 miles from the picturesque city of Pontevedra and 15 minutes walk from the nearest beach, one of many in the area.

Job Summary We are looking for friendly, hardworking and flexible native level English teachers who are punctual, well organised and capable of dealing with a variety of English needs. We require candidates to have knowledge of both Trinity and English Cambridge exams, their content and their expectations of examinees, even if not direct experience. Applicants should have a genuine interest in teaching and enjoy working both with children and adults, delivering fun and motivating classes to all age groups and levels. We are offering 25 contact hours. Clearly these hours do not include preparation and marking. Please refrain from applying if you do not have permission to work in the EU (we do not sponsor visa applications), are not a native level speaker, do not have a degree and TESOL qualification, or lack a genuine interest in the position.

Qualifications A degree and CELTA, TESOL or a teaching qualification are essential (not online TEFL). Knowledge of Spanish is not strictly necessary but is an added advantage.

Salary and Benefits We are offering a contract from 15th September 2024 to 31st June 2025. This includes social security and health insurance, and paid holidays: two weeks at Christmas, one week at Easter and bank holidays. The cost of living in Marin is quite low (flat-sharing 200 euros upwards plus bills, a 3 course lunch 10 euros upwards, etc.). The salary for 25 contact hours per week is 1400 - 1500 gross per month depending on aptitude and experience.
