Company Description: More than 20 years ago, zooplus was one of the first to bring the pet category into the world of eCommerce. Today, we stand strong as Europe's leading online pet platform, delivering moments of happiness to more than 9 million pet parents each year.
Job Description: As Cloud Engineer - AWS, you will have the opportunity to work on the Big Data platform team. This team is responsible for building the software that allows our business colleagues to make decisions in an easy and efficient way. The platform provides an abstraction layer that runs thousands of big data jobs every day, running on compute engines like Athena and Spark. At the same time, we are introducing Iceberg, an industry-standard data storage format for analytics. As of today, our platform stores more than a Petabyte of data.
We build software that allows us to transport all types of data, make it visible throughout Zooplus, and provide options for use cases that require analytics, operational, or event-driven approaches. We manage and operate Kubernetes clusters, Kafka, RDS, Jupyterhub, custom-built ETL jobs, and provide a web GUI for our users made in Vue.Js, all on the AWS cloud, where we also manage Athena, EC2, EKS, Glue, IAM, MSK, and S3.
