The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Project Researcher to work at the Innovation and Valorization Laboratory. This position will be funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and the European Union "NextGeneration EU"/PRTREl within the project CPP2022-009643.

ICIQ is looking for a Project Researcher with experience in synthetic organic chemistry to work at the Innovation and Valorisation Laboratory. The researcher will work on the development of novel synthetic routes of a potential active pharmaceutical ingredient against incapacitating and lethal haemorrhages.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and execution of synthetic routes to provide target moleculesRoute optimization and scale-up of chemical processesPurification, analysis and characterization of novel chemical compoundsComplete documentation of resultsWriting reports and delivering result presentations in group meetingsMaintenance of laboratory equipment RequirementsPh.D. in Organic Chemistry or equivalentSignificant experience in multistep organic synthesisKnowledge of analytical techniques for characterization of chemical compounds (GC, HPLC, NMR, MS, IR, DSC, TGA, X-Ray, etc.)Good knowledge of English (written and spoken)Strong commitment for scientific excellenceMotivated, creative, and problem-solving individual capable of working independently as well as in a team Valued qualitiesExperience in spiro compounds synthesis and asymmetric catalysisExperience in crystallization of small moleculesGood communication skills We offerA full-time employment contract for the length of the project (expected end date Sep 2026).Remuneration according to individual's qualifications/experience.Annual salary split in twelve monthly payments.Incorporation: Immediate.
