Job Description:
We are looking for a versatile Principal Developer to join one of the world's biggest live game franchises and work within Candy Crush Soda.
Your role within the Kingdom:
As a Principal Engineer, you are an excellent C++ Developer with a focus on code quality. You are expected to improve your teams' communication, collaboration, and effectiveness. You will facilitate multi-functional and cross-business unit alignment by providing clear and timely information to all stakeholders and driving informed decision-making.
You actively encourage the sharing of knowledge and ensure that important information is easily accessible to everyone. You have in-depth knowledge of C++ and can identify and apply relevant software engineering concepts, architect complex systems, and actively participate in game creation.
You challenge the quality standards and are accountable for the quality of the systems and components owned by the teams you work in and collaborate with. You facilitate and drive the investigation and mitigation of live incidents and enable detection and prevention mechanisms against future issues, having in-depth knowledge of production environments.
As a Principal Engineer, you champion a culture of autonomy and accountability across multiple teams, promoting self-management and ownership, setting the direction and defining the scope of work. This role is in an R&D space that encourages experimentation and design innovation. You should possess the aim to push things forward and be unafraid of challenges.
You should be enthusiastic about solving problems of varying complexity within a team setting. You will play a pivotal role in defining the architecture, design, stories, and task breakdowns, as well as coordinating technical synchronization. You will need to examine various options and actively assist the team in making decisions regarding technical solutions and processes, including collaborating with the tech leadership team.
Skills to create thrills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent required.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with expert inter-department tech communication.
- Excellent teamwork skills, proactiveness, flexibility, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Previous experience working with C++ projects.
- Previous experience with gaming is a plus.
