About the department
abrdn manage over €63bn of real assets globally and real estate represents the largest asset class within that with €45bn in AUM, covering direct, indirect, and listed real estate strategies. Based in Madrid, the Asset Management team are focused on the active management of our real estate assets (e.g., office buildings, retail parks and logistics sites). Their work makes a meaningful contribution to the contribution of fund performance and ultimately client satisfaction.
About the role
In addition to supporting both the Head of Asset Management and the wider asset management team in their direct asset management activities, the Asset Management Support role will also support in the management of our property management service providers. They'll support with the control and evaluation of cash flows, budgets, and all performance-relevant key figures and act as an important interface between external partners and internal departments. The role involves working very closely with the Head of Asset Management and may also involve aspects of transaction management as the role evolves.
Duties and responsibilities will include: Supporting the Team Head of Asset Management and to work with the asset management (AM) team and wider abrdn teams (i.e., fund management, development management, transactions, letting, legal, property management, ESG, insurance, treasury, research and AM Hub Europe) to deliver asset management initiatives and outcomes in accordance with agreed Investment Plans for client portfolios.Monitoring of external partners regarding the agreements in the service contracts.Providing support to the Fund Management team, ensuring that necessary information for fund strategies are delivered on time.Maintaining lease relevant data, cash flow modelling, and budgets.Providing support in the context of transaction and due diligence processes and the preparation of property-relevant information for internal interfaces (fund management, AM Hub Europe, property accounting, valuation).
