The British Council School Madrid is currently seeking to appoint an outstanding professional as specialist Brass Music Teacher to teach on our Class Band Programme in our Primary class groups, based in Madrid and with an immediate start.
Individual instrumental lessons may also be available in accordance with student demand.
We are offering a part-time, 12.4 weekly hour permanent contract , with an immediate start .

Purpose of the Role To teach in the school as a member of a team of instrument and music teachers.
To teach in a through-school role, across all sections, in all Key Stages, and work as a member of the team ensuring high standards of teaching and learning, as well as being involved in developing high quality schemes of work for students to follow.
To teach on our Class Band Programme in our Primary class groups.
To support the team in achieving excellent ABRSM and similar external exam results.
Preparing students for External Examinations and performances, in and outside school, is a key purpose of this role.

Subject Knowledge and Delivery: Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and can communicate this effectively.
Understanding Your Learners: Is able to identify individual learning needs and implement appropriate strategies.
Learning Technologies: Consistently demonstrates a high level of skill in using technology resources appropriately in the classroom.
Language Requirements First language English/Spanish to the level of, or a level comparable to, first language communicator (Proficient spoken and written level, minimum C2 CEFR or equivalent).
Second language English/Spanish to the level of, or a level comparable to, independent spoken level (minimum B2 CEFR or equivalent).
Education & Qualifications Music qualification (degree in music or equivalent appropriate qualification) with specialism or equivalent experience in brass instrument(s).
Qualified teacher certification.
Additional Job Requirements Proof of Identity requirements/right to work in country.
Other requirements: There are occasional trips and performances locally and members of staff are required to accompany students.
