The "Commodity Team" is the focal point between Avnet Abacus and suppliers of assigned capacitor products at EMEA level. In this role, you´ll develop, implement and drive a competitive commodity product and pricing strategy, as well as the inventory profile, in accordance with the Avnet Abacus' marketing strategy for Europe, with the final target to secure long-term growth and improve our market position by maximizing sales, market share, and margin.
Responsibilities: Develop a strong network of relationships with assigned suppliers for optimized access to key decision makers and information.
Understand suppliers' market approach and product focus to develop and drive the product strategy in collaboration with the Commodity Marketing Manager.
Develop product and market expertise that will help to provide knowledgeable guidance to Sales and other Commodity team members.
Deep-dive analysis and forecasting of price/quote trends and inventory profile.
Negotiate promotional pricing with suppliers to acquire best cost and package deals.
Analyse inventory profile, guide and support sales by providing regular market information and 'best cost alternatives', drive sales to sell overstock.
Support, coach and optimise quoting and purchasing activities for Capacitor Commodity products.
Provide the required infrastructure for easy selling and improve the availability of sales tools.
Play an active role in key customer opportunities and participate in customer meetings, where required, to ensure a competitive understanding of Abacus customer base demands.
What we are looking for: Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and commercial skills.
Strong desire to push ahead and proactively take responsibility in a dynamic matrix organisation.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent commercial and/or technical background.
A minimum of 3 years experience working in product marketing, or in the Passives components business (distribution, customer and supplier).
Capable of building positive relationships with colleagues, suppliers & customers.
Confident, decisive, pragmatic and flexible.
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Strategic planning skills are an advantage.
Good IT skills (Office365, especially excel or similar analytical tools); SAP knowledge would be beneficial.
Communicate effectively, written & oral, in English. Other languages would be an advantage.
