SI's interventions focus on access to drinking water, sanitation, hygiene promotion, food security, and livelihoods.General Objective:Within the Mozambique mission, Mueda base, and under the supervision of the Field Coordinator, the Mueda MEAL Manager ensures that the MEAL strategy of the mission is implemented by the MEAL Base staff.
He/she:Contributes to the centralization and harmonization of MEAL tools and processes on the base.Provides methodological support to base program teams on technical questions linked to MEAL and cross-cutting issues.Collaborates with the MEAL/Program/Technical Coordinator to oversee the quality and relevance of internal monitoring and evaluation activities.Coaches and mentors the current MEAL Activity Manager for potential advancement.Provides MEAL-related training to program teams in the base.Contributes to institutional knowledge building and improvement of MEAL methods and techniques.The Main Challenges:Managing multiple grants with conflicting priorities while ensuring timely expenditure of budgets; attracting key positions due to the remoteness of the area and perceived security issues; maintaining close collaboration with the programs team.Priorities for the First 2/3 Months:Build the capacity of the MEAL Activity Manager for potential re-nationalization of the MEAL Manager position.Continue monitoring and evaluation of SI activities.Support the development of needs assessment and new area assessment processes and data collection tools.Work with the MEAL Coordinator on harmonization of MEAL processes.
