Job Summary: As the Regional Raw Material Buyer for Europe, you play a crucial role in procuring essential and medium-sized purchasing categories to ensure the supply security and cost-effectiveness of all relevant production sites in Europe.
Your responsibilities include monitoring centrally managed raw materials, collaborating with purchasing colleagues across Europe and potentially other regions, addressing supply problems and product shortages, and resolving inconsistencies in SAP.
You will be the primary point of contact for your category portfolio on a European scale and support interdisciplinary collaboration with regional stakeholders.
Your main goal is to develop and implement comprehensive category strategies, including an overview of the global procurement market, understanding MBS demand, supplier evaluation, defining category strategy, supplier portfolio, cost-saving measures, and an implementation plan.
Based on these strategies, you will negotiate to secure competitive terms with suppliers, coordinating closely with internal stakeholders such as Supply Chain, RD, Production, and Business Line.Responsibilities: In this role, you will:Be the primary contact in purchasing for all raw materials included in your portfolio in Europe.Coordinate and moderate cross-local buyers regarding your portfolio.Participate in regional, cross-functional meetings to contribute to the category strategy.Collaborate with other regions to obtain global supply and demand information and integrate it into your strategy.Evaluate and manage suppliers as if they were key customers.Negotiate regional contracts to ensure supply security and favorable conditions.Coordinate and monitor spot-buys.Create value and impact for MBS through cost savings, risk reduction, flexibility, competitiveness, process efficiency, and supplier innovation.Report to the Global Head of Direct Materials on the category's status and achievements.Address and resolve supply issues that cannot be resolved at the country buyer level.Adjust delivery schedules with suppliers and clarify inconsistencies in SAP.Experience:Skills and Required Knowledge:Education/Experience: A degree in business, business administration, or natural sciences, with at least 2 years of procurement experience.Interpersonal and intercultural skills: Excellent skills in international business environments with at least 2 years of experience.Technical skills: Proficiency in procurement techniques, tools like SAP, Excel, and other databases, as well as fluent English (including negotiations) and the local language.Competencies and behavioral skills: Ambitious, energetic self-starter with strong analytical, strategic, communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
