.**Duties**:- Code a variety of technically complex medical records for outpatient and/or inpatient medical conditions.- Utilize the American Medical Association Current Procedural Terminology system, the Health Care Common Procedure Coding System or similar systems to perform coding duties.- Assign appropriate codes, modifiers and units of service to ensure primary and subsequent diagnoses and procedures are accurately described.- Audit medical documentation completed by providers to ensure it is performed in a manner which allows input/transfer into computer systems.- Verify component parts of the medical record to ensure completeness and accuracy of diagnosis,operations and special therapeutic procedures and reports.- Examine records to ensure documentation contains sufficient data to justify the diagnosis and procedure codes assigned.- Review training procedures, policies and regulations to ensure medical documentation and coding training is being implemented according to established requirements.- Provide educational medical documentation and coding training classes for professional medical staff.**Requirements**:**Conditions of Employment**:- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.- One year trial/probationary period may be required.- Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19.- This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance of access for the duration of employment which includes a background investigation and credit check.- This position has a TDY or business travel requirement of 10% of the time to various locations.**Qualifications**:**Who May Apply: US Citizens**In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.
