As a Medical Consultant at IDEXX, your primary responsibility will be to consult with clients (vets) on the phone regarding interpretation of laboratory results, diagnostic testing, and treatment options.
A high level of importance is placed on quality, service, and timeliness.
- This role covers a maternity leave of approximately 5 months.
In This RoleYou will learn about all the tests offered by IDEXX (reference labs and In-House diagnostic tests), specimen requirements, and clinical utility of each test and how to interpret results so that you can guide colleagues in practice regarding diagnostic testing.
You will maintain proficiency and continually develop your medical knowledge base by self-study, attending scientific meetings, participating in internal continuing education, and maintaining familiarity with current literature.
You will carry out the validation of medical results and other related tasks.
You will comply with the laboratory Quality Policy and best practice management objectives.
What You Will Need to SucceedA degree to practice veterinary medicine in Spain.Advanced knowledge of veterinary medicine with at least 3 years of experience in a veterinary clinic or similar.Fluent Spanish is required; ability to speak other languages will be positively valued.Ability to organize and prioritize work.Ability to make appropriate management decisions.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good IT skills.This work involves technical skills and/or administrative duties within standard operating procedures.
Physical DemandsAbility to sit and work on a computer for extended hours.
Extensive phone use.
Location and HoursThis position is remote, so you will need a good internet connection and a suitable workstation at home.
The offer is full time (Monday to Friday) from 10 am to 7 pm.
