In this division we're focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions.

As the Medical Associate Director, you'll have the chance to lead Abbott Diabetes Care´s medical Affairs activities for Spain and Portugal.What You'll DoLocal responsibility for all medical affairs functions, providing medical oversight and decision making for all critical product issues.
Ensure medical research activities meet business goals.Partner with ADC organization to support local strategy.Pilot new projects involving the ADC medical community in alliance with global functions.
Lead and execute ADC's activities in training and continuous medical education.Build trusted and strategic relationships with the local medical community in diabetes care: identify partnering opportunities.Analyze treatment patterns and monitor development of local treatment guidelines.
Develop appropriate medical argumentation to support the use of our products by health care professionals.Participate and represent ADC interests in national medical/industry/governmental organizations and on specific occasions (e.g.
scientific hearings).Minimum RequirementsMD degreeMust be fluent in English and SpanishHands-on experience in the management of patients with diabetes.Relevant management experience in medical device/pharma/consulting/payers or other relevant organization in the Iberia health care system.Desired RequirementsBoard certification and specialization in endocrinology/diabetes care.Additional post-graduate qualification e.g.
master degree in public health, health economics or health policy.Fluent in Portuguese.Knowledge of clinical research, medical risk management and/or medical device regulations is preferred.SkillsAdvanced skills in evidence-based medicine, clinical study design or health economics.Team oriented with the confidence, maturity and integrity to work effectively as a member of one of the top companies in the medical device industry.High personal integrity and ethics required.Excellent communication and organization skills required.Results and Action Oriented - Driven to excel and capable of inspiring others to excellence as well.Able to envision a winning future for the organization and then help turn the vision into reality through hands-on action.
