As Medical Affairs Manager (m/f/d) Spain, you will be at the forefront of managing the medical strategy and activities for one or more therapeutic areas within the Iberian region (Spain and Portugal, SP&PT). This role involves a dynamic partnership with marketing, sales, and other functions, aligning all activities related to the respective therapeutic area(s). Your role will be pivotal in providing scientific expertise and leadership across a broad spectrum of medical affairs activities. These include, but are not limited to, data generation, analysis and interpretation, publications, medical communication, medical training, medical information, congress strategy, and Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement. YOUR CONTRIBUTION Leadership: Leading the Medical Affairs of SP&PT, guiding the medical strategy and contributing significantly to new product launches across various therapeutic areas.Representation: Representing SP&PT Medical Affairs in local, EU, and global teams while developing and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of our products, market trends, and competitor activities.Medical Input: Providing medical input to functions such as Regulatory, Clinical Operations, and Competitive Intelligence, and responding to medical information queries on demand, including off-label use.Budget Management: Managing the budget for SP&PT Medical Affairs and serving as the local contact for doctors regarding Merz Therapeutics' clinical trials.Research Coordination: Coordinating, monitoring, and supervising research studies initiated by local investigators (IIT) until the final report or manuscript is received, and driving the data generation plan for Merz Therapeutics' products, including publications, congress posters, and abstracts.Training and Support: Ensuring excellent internal medical-scientific training of Merz Therapeutics' products, supporting the Iberian Pharmacovigilance team, and providing medical information, review, and approval of promotional and market research materials.Collaboration: Collaborating with marketing in organizing events such as symposiums, workshops, and courses, and conducting clinical sessions in hospitals across Spain and Portugal.Scientific Advice: Providing scientific advice to opinion leaders regarding drugs, their composition, therapeutic applications, and differential characteristics.Team Leadership: Leading the MSLs, ensuring compliance while achieving individual and company objectives.YOUR PROFILE To be successful in this role, you should have: Educational Background: A relevant degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or other Life Science. A Ph.D. is desirable.Experience: Several years of experience in a Medical Affairs position.Networking Skills: Strong networking skills and the confidence to interact with senior experts on a peer-to-peer level.Scientific Knowledge: A commitment to staying updated with scientific literature.Customer Focus: An external customer focus with strong networking capabilities and integration with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).Clinical Trials Understanding: A solid understanding of clinical trials methodology and regulations.Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills.Language Proficiency: Fluency in Spanish and English.
