Job Description:
A position for a ME Development Composite Specialist has arisen at the Industrialization Manufacturing Engineer Center of Competence in Airbus Defence & Space. We are looking for a worker to cover a new position focused on Composite Manufacturing Engineering for development program detail parts.
The activities to be carried out cover from the feasibility phase up to the prototype phase.
Estimate of non-recurring costs associated with industrial development and estimation of recurring costs.
Support the "bid/no bid decision".
Definition of the industrial model, build process, and technological manufacturing solution for each composite part.
Estimations of production rates and lead times.
Establishment of industrial requirements to optimize the product definition in order to meet time, cost, and quality requirements (including the concepts of modularization, standardization, and LEAN standards).
iDMU (Industrial Digital Mock Up) generation. Definition of industrial concepts (jigs and tools, test means, machines, and automated systems). Definition of plant layout requirements, fundamentals, and suppliers. Industrial Product definition in the context of Collaborative Engineering. For critical processes: simulation of the process, configuration, and learning.
Technical management in the development of supplier work packages. Manufacturing of samples for the viability tests. Technical management of bids, and support for selecting and contracting composite parts from suppliers. Creation of technical specifications for tooling, and definition of test means.
Creation and agreements of Industrial Interconnection Documents: Specifications for Delivered Components, Work Specifications. Creation of the manufactured products structure (As-Planned). Configuration control. Standard operation times and work level calculations.
Detailed simulation of the process (precedents, restrictions, areas, etc.) and balancing of the line, adjustment of process times, and skills. Creation of Standard Operating Instructions (SOIs). Definition of skills required for industrial operations.
Technical leadership of manufacturing prototype parts and tests parts. Configuration and improvement of the design of the product, the industrial process, and resources. Leadership of certification and industrialization of new manufacturing material and processes from a manufacturing perspective. Technical support for first articles. Coordination of non-conformities supporting the Material Review Board or the Miss Au Point team.
The position is based at the Cádiz Plant in Spain, and travelling to Getafe, Tablada, or Manching to support Development activities will also be needed.

Education: Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering degree or a related discipline.
Strong technical background in composite manufacturing engineering.
Job experience in development, industrialization, and serial production support to composite detail parts manufacturing is required.
Composite technology knowledge on new processes (e.g. liquid resin infusion, automatic fiber process) is highly desired.
Soft skills: High adaptability to work on new topics, new business, and in a networking mode.
Fluent English written and spoken is a must.
Communication skills, both written (documents, instructions) and spoken (meetings, technical discussions) are needed.
The jobholder will join an already running team, so agility and a speedy learning curve are essential to deliver properly.
