Tasks & Accountabilities
The appointed M&P PE engineer shall be responsible for the complete antenna Payloads, for hybrids components and antennas/active antennas manufacturing processes, in terms of M&P PE, performing both general M&PPE activities as well as specific activities in the expertise area of Electronic / Electrical as linked with the Engineering Harness Dpt and EEE and other technical functions.
Translate A/C requirements into technical requirements and define deliverables.
Define Materials and processes deliverables for Definition Dossier in terms of Product assessments, replacement strategies, lifecycle assessment, etc.
Ensure EHS legal compliance, objectives identification, Indicators / gates to ensure control and visibility, REACh basics and requirements.
General M&PPE Activities:
Support Payload PAM in subcontractors RFP process. Review Statement of Compliance from subcontractors against the Programme M&P requirements.
Support Payload PAM in the update of the Payload Statement of Compliance regarding M&P requirements.
Participate in audits and quality assessment as needed throughout the project lifecycle for specific M&P issues.
Prepare and maintain Payload DML, DMPL, DPL (repeater and DRA elements).
Review and approval of subcontractors DML, DMPL & DPL at the different project milestones: EQSRS, MPCBs, PDRs, CDRs.
Participate in MPCBs with Customer (i.e. HDS/ESA).
Prepare Validation / Qualification Plans and Reports in collaboration with other colleagues when applicable, related to M&P for ASE in-house activities.
Participation as Customer in subcontractors MPCBs, including facilities visit if needed.
Processing of RFAs for critical M&P items from subcontractors in Step 1 (review and approval of qualification / validation / verification for the subject part/material/process) and in Step 2 (review of report).
Review CCCPs from subcontractors.
Review of RFDs/RFWs from subcontractors related to MMPP.
Support to Payload PAM in preparation of Payload RFDs/RFWs related to MMPP.
Prepare Criticality Analysis on PMP versus radiation.
Prepare Payload CCCP and support cleanliness and contamination control activities during the Payload development.
Support the Project in resolution of NCRs related to MMPP.
Analyze Alerts related to M&P and their impact on the project.
M&PPE Activities in the Area of Electronics / Electrical:
Follow up M&P activities related to EEE parts assemblies (SMT, feed-through, etc.) for both in-house and at subcontractors: processes verification, assemblies qualification, materials validations, mechanical parts qualification.
Demonstrate compliance with ECSS-Q-ST-70 series whenever applicable.
Provide/manage M&P expertise (as MPPE and through the TDs) in the area of RF hybrid circuits according to ECSS-Q-ST-60-05C. In particular, on the following topics:
Wire bonding processes.
Die attach processes for MMIC assemblies.
Eutectic soldering for high power applications.
Hermetic sealing processes.
Support to HTIF preparation.
Provide M&P expertise in other areas (but not limited to).
Required Background:
Master's Engineer or Master's Sciences Degree with proven experience in the scope of description and in the manufacturing processes in the Space perimeter.
Good knowledge and experience of methodologies for processes qualification.
Able to manage new supplier qualifications.
Previously led problem-solving activities, performed audits and reviews at supplier level, and analyzed risks.
Experience in impact analysis (M&P).
Good knowledge and experience on ESA, EN9100, and Quality regulations.
Good knowledge and experience in Lean concepts and tools.
Knowledge of European Rules with regard to REACH legal issues and awareness of Health & Safety issues.
You will also have experience/knowledge in:
Management of R&D studies projects.
Testing and Technology laboratories (materials analysis and processes).
Project Management.
Basic Skills:
Recognized for flexibility, interpersonal skills, ability to find solutions, and ability to face pressure.
A good level of English and Spanish is required for this position. Other languages are also appreciated.
Availability for very frequent traveling is required.
