We are looking for a Material Master Data Specialist based in Barcelona for an initial temporary contract.
The Material Master Data Specialist position is in Shared Business Services (SBS), on the Material Master Data team.
This is a Global team with Global processes and a diverse customer base.
Team members will have the opportunity to interface with representatives in all regions around the globe and numerous businesses and process streams.
Our current large projects include Hungary, Poland, Norway, Uzbekistan, United States, and Saudi Arabia, although we support existing businesses and new opportunities in numerous other countries as well.
Material Master Data Specialists support the global Material Creation and Maintenance processes.
They need to have a strong process background that will enable them to work successfully with various Business and functional groups, along with the many complicated business rules that we manage.
They will need to execute the material master processes and meet the overall performance objectives for the business.
As Material Master Data Specialist, you will: Support the Material Master Creation and Maintenance Processes.
Create and Modify material master data in SAP.
Assist with Material data gathering needs for various projects.
Verify the accuracy of data submitted by the business.
Interact with and guide Businesses when they need material data.
Identify and share process improvement ideas.
Create queries in SAP and databases and generate reports for SAP data.
Monitor team email, in-house tools, and ServiceNow queues, and make sure requests are being processed within the team SLAs.
Participate in Data Quality reviews and corrections.
Work closely with other global MMD team members, business representatives, and Process Owners/Experts.
Work with business and functional groups to ensure compliance with data quality standards and policies.
Use problem solving skills to resolve material master data and process issues.
You will have: Ideally at least 3 years' experience in commercial business area (packaged gases, liquid bulk).
Fluent English communication skills, both written and oral; other languages also helpful, especially Polish.
Ability to bridge cultural and geographical differences and be able to comfortably communicate at all levels.
Be culturally sensitive to working in a diverse international environment.
Exceptional attention to detail skills.
Ability to multi-task and adjust to changing priorities.
Working knowledge of SAP ECC material master data transactions, tables, and fields; additional S/4 HANA knowledge is a plus but not required.
Confidence to work independently and ask questions as needed.
Focus on continuous improvement.
Ability to follow and improve existing processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, with expertise in Excel.
Basic Microsoft Access skills.
Chemical or gas background is helpful but not required.
Desire to learn/understand more than just Material Master area.
Desire to understand material master impact to outside customers.
Be able to adapt to changing environments and business needs.
