Description At Hitachi Energy, we are recruiting a Material Manager to work for our High Voltage Business Unit. A Material Manager manages or performs work associated with the procurement, supply, and logistics of manufacturing materials.
Responsibilities: Establish operational plans for the job area. Develop and implement new products, processes, standards, or operational plans that will impact the achievement of functional results. Drive harmonized processes to sustainably reduce inventory levels and achieve a high service level. Optimize material flows and stock levels while balancing efficient and resilient inventory management. Harmonize processes to optimize stock levels through efficient ERP usage. Define measurements to analyze optimum stock levels. Liaise with the Supply Chain function to ensure smooth material flow and a resilient supply chain. Ensure streamlined procurement procedures for a smooth flow of materials. Define harmonized inventory storage procedures. Implement robust material planning processes to fulfill customer demands. Identify supply chain risks early and mitigate them. Forecast and analyze inventory levels to secure efficient routines. Identify and drive improvements in purchase processes. Your Background: Minimum 15 years of experience as a Material Manager/Coordinator. University degree in engineering, materials, or a related field. Operational and inventory mindset. Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work closely with large and complex remote teams in a multi-country and multi-cultural environment. Excellent project management skills with demonstrated capacity to take initiative, structure and prioritize work effectively, and deliver on committed schedules. Continuous improvement knowledge is a plus. Strong written and oral communication skills, fluent in English; other European languages are a plus. Willingness to travel 30% of the time.
