Touch in Touch is recruiting a Material & Inventory Lead for a multinational leader company in the railway industry that provides highly engineered systems and services to virtually every major rail transit system around the world.
The Material & Inventory Lead is responsible for maintaining the flow of materials necessary for production and sales orders to satisfy customer demand while carrying minimum effective inventory.
He/She will also manage the team and coordinate schedules and inventories to ensure that the right materials are available at the right time and at the optimal cost by optimizing material usage and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
ResponsibilitiesMaterial Management Ensure suppliers' deliveries on time for MPS while reducing inventory coverage days.Quarterly review and maintenance of MRP Parameters coordinated with Sourcing Director to be adapted and aligned with market situation, customer, manufacturing requirements, etc.Ensure coordination with Master Scheduler to execute the Production Plan on a weekly and monthly basis.Identify gaps and drive solutions on production performance relative to the requested production.Use PDCA cycle to ensure key items of the month (to control supplier acknowledged dates, aging of the delay, most inventory valued items, customer roadblocks, etc.).Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating logistic contracts, and managing disputes to ensure materials are delivered on time and within specifications.Lead and develop the materials management team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement.Collaborate with other departments such as production, purchasing, and quality control to ensure that material requirements are met.Monitor supplier performance and the related KPIs of the area.Inventory Management Analyze inventory items based on ABC categorization to ensure high service levels, i.e., product availability.Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring that there is neither excess nor a shortage, which could impact production schedules.Timely reporting of Inventory key metrics: excess stock, obsolete 100% depreciated, net inventory, inventory forecast, coverage per category, coverage per project.Drive Inventory Committee, QRQC excess, Coverage per project, 100% provisioned items with Sourcing, Engineering, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.Identify and implement actions to improve availability and optimize inventory.Requirements Education Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering.Supply Chain Management education desirable.Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) highly recommended.Experience: Minimum 3 years in materials management.
