As ptw Shipyard is working on luxury superyachts, suitable applicants for this position will have experience working on high-end mechanics.
Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering & Mechanics.
We are currently searching for fellow skilled, dedicated and like-minded individuals to join our Engineering & Mechanics Department, to perform repair and maintenance works on the engine room equipment and all the auxiliary systems of yachts, meeting or beating budget and schedule.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE The selected person must have at least 5 years of proven experience performing similar tasks.
MAIN ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Wide knowledge of the marine industry, preferably in the superyacht arena.
Budget, plan, supervise and launch the work of the department.
Execution of work on engines and generators on board the customer's vessel.
Types of work to be carried out: inspections, maintenance, repairs, fault diagnosis and repairs.
Installations, maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair of various types of mechanical equipment on yachts and superyachts (shafts, rudders, stabilizers, water pumps, valves, injectors, injection pumps, propellers).
Conducting plumbing and intake repairs.
Repairing faulty hydraulic and steering systems.
Ensure the use of the correct tools and materials.
Defining work processes and supervising their correct execution.
Writing and control of reports.
Follow the safety rules, regulations and procedures described by the company, in marinas and on-board vessels.
Keep a clean work area that ensures safe work practices and supports a professional work environment with high quality standards.
Fulfill with the project schedule.
Be inured to work under pressure conditions with work deadlines and excellence in the result.
Report to the operations manager the status of the work and timely recommendations to improve the quality and efficiency of the department.
Report to project managers on the planning and execution status of work.
Ensuring the maintenance and improvement of the facilities.
Performing other tasks as directed by the operations manager.
Willingness to travel from time to time.
Transfer knowledge and train team members.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Strong focus on results, quality, safety, and efficiency.
Ability to work with the team and independently, including supervision and dealing with outside subcontractors.
Ability to follow up and report on an activity.
Flexible to change jobs and varying job assignments, often daily.
Training and constant learning is required to support the business.
SOFTWARE Used to work with ERP business management software.
Office package (Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Outlook and Power Point) and Autocad.
LANGUAGES Spanish.
English is a plus but not essential.
TRAINING Vocational training in Mechanics.
LOCATION TYPE OF CONTRACT AND SALARY Permanent contract.
