Margin Optimisation Manager Location: Madrid / Barcelona Remote/Office/Hybrid: Hybrid Employment Type: Permanent About the role This is a role which requires laser focus on two key areas for the business: 1) strategic development and implementation of the Commercial Policy and 2) tactical optimisation of the achieved margin.
Commercial Policy Be responsible to identify all gaps between the EMEA CP and local practices and lead an action plan to bring closer alignment.
Margin optimisation Hold the market leadership team to account on delivery of margin optimisation targets.
Closely monitor and analyse margin and profit trends (incorporating all levers driving net margin e.g., cost of goods, discounting, inventory, channel) in order to provide advice to the leadership team and challenge when necessary.
Working with the ethos of 'test, refine, roll-out', transform performance data into insight to inform sales, marketing and product strategies.
Define in conjunction with the business strategic actions for supplier brands, new product introductions and own range products to optimise return.
Liaise with procurement and commercial teams to optimise ROI through customer and supplier commercial terms.
Collate competitor pricing information and strategy to inform and define in-market pricing approach.
Through close links with the Group Pricing team, ensure that sales and PSM teams effectively use the recommended pricing and margin optimisation tools.
Furthermore, provide 'voice of the market' feedback to the group development teams with the goal to make sure that these tools are developed accordingly.
Develop and issue appropriate reports and reporting dashboards to facilitate the steering of the Commercial Policy and support its implementation e.g.
low and negative margin on NPI and core offer products, low margin CSPs.
Collaborate with and challenge sales teams through the bids and tender process for both new and existing business.
