Manager Freight Costs & Supporting Materials PURPOSE The Manager Freight Costs & Supporting Materials is part of the new GWT GBS team and focusing on the GWT operational tasks in two areas:
Finance support: the Manager Freight Costs & Supporting Materials will support our financial tasks in the areas of freight cost management execution, forecast tracking and budgeting. Thermal equipment material support: the Manager Freight Costs & Supporting Materials will manage the order process of thermal materials (dataloggers, thermal blankets) with Bayer sites and CMOs around the world, including the budgeting, cost tracking and development of process improvements. In parallel to the day-2-day operational work, the candidate is expected to support process improvements and possible projects extending the scope of responsibility.
YOUR TASKS & RESPONSABILITIES
Finance support Freight costs invoice management Tracking of IOF values, 4PL invoice values and account bookings Check invoice content on detailed shipment level and approval in Ariba Review and approval of additional surcharges for exception cost handling Internal Outward Freight (IOF) costs management Closely track & manage IOF costs to achieve monthly targets (FY budget of ~180m EUR) Closely align with 4PLs on costs development Calculate & communicate accruals towards finance Support adhoc analysis Internal Outward Freight (IOF) costs forecasting & budgeting Further develop IOF projection model to calculate budget Collect & develop required input from main stakeholders (price projection, volume projection) Prepare & drive budget and forecasting discussions with finance Airfreight Costs management Further develop airfreight budget projection model Calculate required airfreight budget to achieve IOF target Own airfreight budget process: communicating airfreight budget & costs with GSM (on a monthly base), run quarterly steering meeting & support in implementing improvement measures Support adhoc analysis Thermal equipment material support Steering of the ordering process of thermal equipment (mainly dataloggers, thermal blankets) for Bayer sites and CMOs Development of process improvements jointly with GWT, Supply Chain and Quality Placement of Purchase Orders in alignment with Finance and GWT Operational tracking and monitoring of all orders (CH division: ~€1,5m costs, ~300 orders) Operational cost tracking of equipment by type and supplier incl. transportation costs Communication with Bayer sites, CMOs, supplier managers (Bayer), logistics service providers (external) and material suppliers (external) Escalation management in case of issues (e.g. for delivery, transportation) WHO YOU ARE Master degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain, industrial engineering or similar. Working experience (5+ years) in logistics and supply chain, ideally close to operations. Experience in Finance is a plus. Very good skills in communication. Very good knowledge of advanced Excel functionalities & DB applications. Ideally solid understanding of SAP business processes. Ideally good understanding of Bayer supply chain. Language: English fluent, German is a plus.
