The Role We are seeking a dynamic Manager of Film to join our team in Madrid, focusing on Spain's vibrant film industry. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver commercially successful films that resonate broadly, bring joy, and contribute to our growing member base.
As the ideal candidate, you are a natural storyteller with a strong editorial eye and deep expertise in the Spanish film industry as a Creative Producer. You can guide projects through all stages, from development to production and post-production, delivering high-quality films that delight audiences. Your extensive network of industry professionals, including directors, writers, producers, and on-screen talent, coupled with your knowledge of Spanish market trends, will be instrumental in this role.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on position that requires creativity, exceptional judgment, and outstanding organizational skills. You thrive in an environment of innovation and collaboration, balancing multiple projects and priorities with a positive, solution-oriented approach.
Key Responsibilities: Content Development: scout, Identify, and develop creative content for Netflix's Spain film slate, ensuring alignment with audience preferences and market trends.
Talent Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with a wide network of talent, including Directors, Production Companies, writers, Department Heads, Editors, and on-screen talent.
Creative Leadership: Shape and oversee the creative vision for feature films, leading discussions and providing guidance on areas such as scripts, casting, and production.
Project Management: Manage multiple films concurrently. Effectively navigating various stages of development and production, from scouting to post-production and launch.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with internal Netflix teams, such as Production Management, Post-Production, VFX, Marketing, and PR, to ensure seamless execution and impactful launches.
Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to cross-regional initiatives by sharing insights, best practices, and lessons learned across EMEA teams.
What We're Looking For: Industry Expertise: Demonstrable experience in the Spanish film industry, with a proven track record of delivering successful, high-quality feature films to broad audiences.
Creative Vision: Exceptional editorial acumen and the ability to lead creative discussions, shape scripts, and oversee projects with a focus on storytelling excellence.
Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of Spanish market trends, audience preferences, and cultural nuances.
Extensive Network: Strong connections within the Spanish creative community, including directors, writers, department heads, editors, and talent.
Adaptability: Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-changing, high-pressure environment.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Innovative Thinking: A bold, thinker who is open to taking calculated risks and exploring new approaches.
