Bristol Myers Squibb's Center for Innovation and Translational Research Europe (CITRE) R&ED; site located in Seville, Spain is a capability center that brings together teams from our global Informatics and Predictive Sciences, Early Clinical Development and Thematic Research Center organizations to contribute to Bristol Myers Squibb research efforts worldwide. Our site houses computational, clinical and biology research teams as well as dedicated computational research infrastructure and laboratory facilities. Alongside onsite research, the center serves to expand our innovation, collaboration and talent development footprint in Europe.
The CITRE Lab Ops & EOHSS Liaison Manager will work as part of the site operations team to ensure all compliance and quality standards are met within the site and its laboratory. The primary focus of the Manager, CITRE Lab Ops & EOHSS Liaison is to manage all required Work Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, documentation, training, inspection records, communications, and performance metrics to ensure best practices and compliance with all relevant regulations and Bristol-Myers Squibb Global Standards. This role will work in conjunction with a third-party accredited review process, assist staff and management with technical competence and compliance, along with adherence and operations under a documented quality system, to guarantee the laboratory quality compliance in specific ISO standards.
Key Responsibilities:Supports integration of best practices into research and business process planning and strategy.Develops and manages all Laboratory Operations and EHS documents (protocols, manuals, work instructions, Safety Committee Meeting Minutes, etc.) to ensure they are maintained within proper repository for access and training.Assists in ensuring effectiveness of quality management system and compliance with ISO17025 accreditation.Assists with the management of inspections, including scheduling, documenting and Corrective and Preventative Action Plan completion records.Participates with site emergency response team. Utilize incident command structure to coordinate the activities of BMS and external emergency response personnel. Provide 24/7 emergency response capability for site.Influences the compliance programs in the facility through active planning, assessment and correction of work activities conducted by both BMS and contract employees.Assists in the creation, deployment and maintenance of CITRE EOHSS Standard Operating Procedures, site Work Instructions, and plans to help ensure continued improvement of facility and organization EHS performance.Supports implementation of incident and near miss reporting and investigation process, ensures communication to appropriate management, and/or implementation of necessary preventive measures.Supports CITRE Industrial Hygiene Program as needed, including calibration program for instruments.Assists with the development and reporting of key EHS metrics.Coordinates Ergonomic Assessments as needed for employees. Manages any required follow up equipment or tools to ensure end customer satisfaction.Assists with laboratory operational training programs to ensure that all personnel receive adequate and proper training.Develops and deploys EHS communications using existing media display tools to enhance EHS program effectiveness.Collaborates in the design and implementation of site projects with EHS impacts.Creates and deploys EHS surveys to gauge EHS program effectiveness.Assists in tracking and coordination of Laboratory Operations and EHS permit renewals, regulatory deadlines, training requirements and other internal compliance timelines.Assists in the administration of contractor safety program and associated SAFE Work Permits, Job Hazard Analysis, and any required documentation.Experience:Bachelor's degree in safety or environmental sciences related field, chemistry, biology, or closely related scientific field with 5-7 years of industry experience; EHS trainings or certifications such as ASP, CBSP, CSP, CIH, CHMM a plus.Knowledge and experience in ISO17025 or equivalent standards and programs, highly desirable.Proven ability to direct, motivate, lead and negotiate with diverse population and multi-functional teams.Ability to develop proactive programs.
