.This position is responsible for overseeing the entirety of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems throughout various construction projects. The role involves meticulous planning, supervision, and maintenance of these systems during project execution. The MEP Engineer ensures that all technical aspects conform to industry standards and project specifications, conducting comprehensive inspections and overseeing testing and commissioning processes. By providing strategic solutions to engineering challenges, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the seamless operation and compliance of MEP systems, aligning with stringent quality and safety standards.The work of assignment for this role will be in Dili, East Timor.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine inspections of construction as work proceeds, prepare and maintain daily diaries for project activities.Make visits to worksites to obtain information on facility/site conditions to support the development of appropriate remedial actions.Monitor ongoing maintenance work to check contractor progress and verify compliance with plans and specifications.Monitor construction contractor compliance with established safety standards and ensure compliance with contractor labor standards.Coordinate recommendations for the resolution of problems not involving changes to contract value, scope, terms, or duration; recommend solutions to the Government officials (Navy Contracting Office) for problems that may result in a change of contract value, terms, or duration.Coordinate contractor's maintenance of drawings as modifications and alterations to facilities are made. Make recommendations for correction.Coordinate the verification that the contractor provides a complete set of Operation and Maintenance Support Information (OMSI) Manuals and contractor provided user training for new equipment installed in the process of maintenance and/or equipment changes or upgrades. Make recommendations for correction.Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.Perform site survey with a registered surveyor, assist in obtaining permits, assess and monitor hazardous material abatement work and provide cost estimating assistance.Monitor the means and methods of the construction contractor, monitoring compliance with contractual, safety, and quality requirements.Perform field inspections to review the construction work and review compliance with the design, UFC's and safety requirements.Qualification To Be Successful In The RoleAssociate Degree or graduate of an accredited Trade School or formal construction apprenticeship program.Ability to organize project documents, develop progress reports, and document issues.Understanding of local codes and requirements, safety requirements, and quality control processes.Experience tracking the resolution of quality and safety issues, and supporting management in the resolution of those issues
