As Maintenance and Engineering Manager you'll be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and engineering functions at the plant facility. You'll lead a team of skilled technicians and engineers, and will be responsible for ensuring that all plant equipment is functioning at optimal levels, production runs smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
You will have a deep understanding of technical processes and systems, and be able to implement improvements to drive continuous improvement in plant performance. Additionally you'll have the responsibility for Capex planning and management as well as Asset Health management.
Your daily adventure at Storio: Manage and lead both the maintenance and engineering teams at the Paterna plant, ensuring the teams are motivated, productive, and focused on delivering results.
Manage the technical team, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management.
Conduct regular performance reviews, set performance goals and provide feedback to team members.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, encouraging new ideas and initiatives that enhance plant performance.
Work closely with the production team to identify and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensure that the team complies with all health and safety regulations and that all staff are trained to work safely and efficiently.
Collaborate with other departments, including operations, quality, and safety, to ensure seamless coordination of activities and achieve overall plant objectives
Develop and manage the capex budget for the maintenance and engineering functions, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
Establish and maintain a collaborative relationship with the Storio Group engineering team from other plants or from corporate roles.
Implement and maintain Engineering processes and systems to ensure optimal plant performance, including digital engineering, reliability engineering, and process engineering.
Develop and implement Capex plans and manage the budget to ensure that investments in plant and equipment are made to support long-term growth and efficiency goals.
Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
Maintenance Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and equipment.
Develop and implement maintenance strategies to optimize plant performance and reduce downtime.
Manage the asset health of all equipment, ensuring that preventative and corrective maintenance is performed in a timely and effective manner.
Ensure that all equipment and machinery is well-maintained, serviced, and operated in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and company policies.
Possible KPIs: Asset uptime: The percentage of time that plant equipment is functioning without interruption due to breakdowns or maintenance. A KPI target for this could be set at 95% or higher.
Maintenance cost: The total cost of maintenance activities, including labor, parts, and downtime costs, compared to the budgeted amount. A KPI target for this could be set at 10% or less of total operating costs.
Planned maintenance compliance: The percentage of planned maintenance activities that are completed on schedule, compared to the planned schedule. A KPI target for this could be set at 90% or higher.
Equipment reliability: The average time between equipment failures, compared to the desired time between failures. A KPI target for this could be set at 2-3 times the desired time between failures.
Capex project completion: The percentage of capex projects completed on time and within budget, compared to the planned schedule and budget. A KPI target for this could be set at 95% or higher.
Employee engagement: The level of employee engagement and satisfaction with their work environment and management. A KPI target for this could be set at 80% or higher employee engagement score.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers will ensure timely delivery of parts and equipment, contributing to smooth operations.
What you bring to the party: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, or related field.
At least 7 years of experience in a maintenance or engineering role, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment and maintenance practices.
Proven experience managing capex budgets, and leading large-scale projects.
Experience with Asset Management Systems and related software tools.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on root-cause analysis and corrective action.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
