About the Role
Dow Jones is seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineering Manager to lead our team of machine learning engineers. You will be responsible for managing the implementation of advanced machine learning solutions, ensuring their seamless integration and operational success. Your leadership will play a crucial role in guiding the team to deliver high-impact machine learning projects aligned with our organizational goals and technological advancements.
As a leader within the AI Engineering Team, you will be deeply involved in every aspect of the AI project development process, from brainstorming and ideation to production launch and ongoing development, ensuring that our machine learning solutions deliver tangible value, meet organizational needs, and are developed with a focus on security and scalability.
You Will:
Lead, mentor, and guide a team of machine learning engineers to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support professional growth within the team.
Facilitate close collaboration within the AI Engineering Team to integrate ML models into our Information Retrieval pipelines, covering pre-processing, fine-tuning, and deployment.
Lead implementation of optimized data storage and indexing systems for NLP, utilizing advanced database technologies.
Guide the development of tools and frameworks supporting model training, tuning, and evaluation for seamless integration into our infrastructure.
Monitor model performance, continuously improving accuracy and efficiency, and provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and updates as needed.
Build and maintain data processing pipelines for high volumes of structured and unstructured data, ensuring robust, secure, and scalable production systems.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all machine learning infrastructure and support processes.
Stay updated with the latest developments in GenAI, NLP, ML, and information retrieval technology, incorporating best practices into our systems and processes.
You Have:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related STEM field.
Proven track record of leadership and technical expertise within the field of machine learning, AI, or data science, with at least 3 years of leadership experience.
Experience with machine learning algorithms, techniques, and model operationalization.
Proficiency in Python and/or other high-level programming languages commonly used in machine learning.
Experience with NLP and Machine Learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., PyTorch, HuggingFace, LangChain, spaCy, NLTK, scikit-learn, etc.).
Proficiency in cloud-based infrastructure and managing large datasets.
Experience with agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
Excellent project management skills with experience successfully delivering complex machine learning projects.
Familiarity with software engineering best practices, ensuring the development of secure, scalable, and efficient production systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
