We are looking for a Power System Engineer to join our Grid Connection department. How to contribute to our visionAs a Power System Engineer, you will:
Develop Wind Turbine and/or Wind Farms Regulator electrical simulation models in Electromagnetic Transient models with specific features (snapshot, encryption, multi-run).Develop converter control algorithms for grid features.Integrate DLLs or automatically generated code.Test model performance and analyze results. Provide inputs to other departments.Assess model performance against WTG capabilities.Analyze modeling issues.Document activities: design report, validation reports, user manuals.Develop automation tools to run simulations and create reports automatically. What you need to make a differenceIdeally, you have 3 or more years of experience developing PSCAD models or developing new converter control algorithms. You should have a Grid Connection background and be familiar with grid code requirements.
Power System Engineering:Transmission and distribution networks.Grid elements: power transformers, power cables, reactive power compensation devices, protection and distribution of MV grids.Power electronics.Electrical machines.Harmonics analysis.Transient stability (mainly LVRT and OVRT).Electromagnetic transients simulation (EMT).Dynamic studies (response to grid events or changes in power plant set points).Simulation and modeling of control and electrical systems.Small Signal Stability analysis of power systems.PSCAD: Important to have knowledge about Fortran compilers, compatibility issues, and encryption techniques.Creation and integration of compiled code (DLLs) into simulation tools allowing advanced features: Multirun, multi-instance, and snapshot features.Fortran and C programming.MATLAB and Simulink.RSCAD (software package) Real Time Digital Simulator. In return for your commitment we offer youBecome a part of our mission for sustainability: Clean energy for generations to come.
