The Applied Artificial Intelligence Unit of Eurecat develops innovative solutions (algorithms, methods, platforms) based on a combination of artificial intelligence and knowledge management technologies, especially for the industrial, energy, and sustainability sectors. The Eurecat Applied Artificial Intelligence Unit, in partnership with the UAB university, seeks a PhD student to study vehicle-grid interaction. He/she will develop statistical and AI models, and design control and optimization strategies to optimize the entire charging chain from energy provision to the end user. This work will be developed in the context of the XL-Connect Horizon Europe project.Functions and Responsibilities Study, design, and implement algorithms for smart and advanced charging solutions.Participate and lead scientific publications.Develop, validate, and maintain code.Participate in group meetings and conferences.Conduct research, write drafts of scientific papers, and deliver a PhD thesis.Provide R&D support to other colleagues.Requirements Studies and Knowledge: Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related disciplines.Proven experience working with Python, reusable code, and software documentation.Other programming languages such as C++ will be positively valued.Soft Skills: Able to work in a multidisciplinary team.Able to work autonomously and communicate/document results in a comprehensible and professional way.Demonstrate excellent communication skills as well as adaptability and creativity.A certain degree of mobility is expected due to PhD requirements (Conferences and Institutional visits).Availability to perform an internship in a project partner institution.Languages: High oral and written communication skills in English.Knowledge of Catalan or Spanish is desirable.#J-18808-Ljbffr
