Craft: King is looking for a Senior Visual Development Artist to join our New Games division.
We are looking for someone with an ability to champion visual development, collaborating with Creative Directors, Art Directors, and Artists in developing exciting, outstanding, and memorable visuals for our games and IP.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver concept art that helps set up visual benchmarks and supports teams in realizing our concepts in production content of our new games.
Work closely with Art & Creative Directors to understand the creative vision, working with them to craft a visual style that supports the product's pillars and ambition.
Work with the Senior Director of Visual Development and key collaborators to find opportunities to improve pipelines and art workflows, supporting the consistent delivery of art that aligns with the needs of Game Design, player's experience, marketing, and IP Development.
Support the ongoing development of Art Style Guides and relevant documentation that will align teams, support the onboarding of new team members, and prepare teams for any potential external development.
Skills to Create Thrills: You will bring versatility and a true passion as a visual problem solver to craft visuals within the technical parameters and creative vision of our games.
You have strong communication skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously when needed.
Qualifications: Experience in the field of Visual Development and environment design.
Ability to build artwork in a wide range of styles and tones.
Foundational understanding of drawing, perspective, painting, color, and design principles.
Ability to creatively lead small teams through the visual development and design process.
Interest and skills for visual storytelling and world building.
Curiosity about mentoring and training artists in the craft of visual development/concept art.
Bonus Skills: Experience or basic understanding of 3D Software packages.
Abilities in the discipline of color, digital painting, and lighting design.
Ability or basic understanding of disciplines outside of environment design, like character and hard surface design.
