Job Summary We are looking for a qualified Logistics Specialist to oversee and coordinate the warehouse supply chain operations, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of goods for our team in Igualada, Spain.
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the warehousing process and customer order fulfillment.
Responsibilities will include managing inventory, processing orders, and organizing logistics according to the demand and quality standards.
This role will analyze and optimize logistical procedures, monitor shipments, and handle documentation ensuring compliance with local and internal regulations.
Duties include a specific focus on providing and maintaining quality products to customers on time, ensuring that orders for both internal and external customers are fulfilled on time and in full.
The goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient flow of both our production operations and customer order fulfillment in European-based operations.
This role is located onsite in Igualada, Spain.
Responsibilities Design and maintain logistics schedules driven by internal and external customer demand at tanneries.
Determine equipment, materials, and manpower required to optimize warehousing and logistics cycle.
Daily standard work will be designed to minimize risk and optimize organization goals (i.e., lead time to market, quality, and cost).
Manage inbound delivery acceptance to include coordinating deliveries, receiving sheets into the inventory system.
Manage outbound shipment for both customer and internal transfers by selecting sheets based on requirements, completing shipping documentation (packing slips and export documents), and updating the inventory system.
Manage physical inventory of sheets and chemicals, provide cycle counts, and ensure accuracy of the inventory data systems.
Ensure proper organization of the required documentation and re-order office supplies as needed.
Identify delays and accordingly adjust schedules to meet deadlines with minimal impact on customer demand.
Collaborate with plants and the central team to optimize supply strategy (creating shipping orders, premium costs, package sizes, customs issues, etc.).
Sourcing transportation needs for the plants under your scope, securing the best option in terms of cost and reliability within our approved carrier pool.
Provide data of existing carriers' performance and support with onboarding of new ones.
Additional responsibilities will include yield forecasting, mapping trends by interpreting production statistics and exception reporting to troubleshoot future delays.
Support implementation of ERP for Inventory Management, Shipping, Receiving, Required Reporting.
Participate in daily meetings to keep track of warehousing and logistics management.
Lead the customer order management system, take responsibility to maintain data integrity for the shipment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and design and drive process improvement initiatives.
View and analyze team KPIs, deliveries to ensure material delivery when needed to avoid line downtime or additional costs.
Operate as backup to the production and MRP planning activities.
Qualifications: This candidate must be organized, results-driven, analytical, and well-versed in production procedures and optimization.
Advanced communication and computer skills are very useful for the role.
BS or Technical certifications such as an APICS certification preferred.
Experience in logistics or warehousing for low mix high volume products (preferred).
Experience in international shipping is a plus.
Experience interfacing cross-functionally to coordinate scheduling.
Good understanding of the industry market trends and conditions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
