The Logistics Specialist monitors inventory levels to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained to support, build, and repair activities. Extensive communication with customers is required to coordinate shipments and documentation.
Responsibilities: Verify all customer instructions are complete and all necessary permits/licenses are in place to meet country requirements.
Schedule appointments at warehouse facilities according to production availability, facility costs, and free days/storage given.
Coordinate deliveries of full and partial truckloads to trans-load facilities, making decisions based on facility costs, port congestion, and steamship line rates.
Book inland trucking/dray carrier and dispatch; determine carrier based on rate, availability, and on-time performance.
Request credit approval on shipments, confirm load details in transportation systems, and release orders to the inspection facility.
Confirm customs clearance with customers upon arrival.
Stay current on the constantly changing government requirements of international business/markets.
Responsible for daily crisis management and rescheduling shipments if needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Associate's Degree or above; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
2+ years of experience in logistics.
Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field or 3 years of import/export logistics experience.
Strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
2-5 years of experience working with 4PLs.
2-5 years of experience in warehouse operations and inventory management.
Intermediate knowledge and experience with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
