Objective of the position
To create, plan and implement logistics material flows. Carry out logistics capacity planning and logistics resources for the corresponding plant and report the results to the central planning department. Lead complex logistics projects and carry out logistics planning within the carline project team or in the function. Plan, describe, optimize and implement logistics processes according to the best practice approach, economic points of view and according to the logistics planning guidelines. Provide support in the area by taking part in defining principles and implementing standards.
Principal activities:
Plan, organize and control subprojects in the Plant during the industrialization phase in cooperation with project management.
Develop, plan and implement supply concepts to the production within a carline project in coordination with the Logistics Planner Plant as well as between several plants in alignment with the Supervisor of Central Logistics Planning.
Develop and implement an optimal material flow at the relevant plant for a carline project and/or across several plants/sites per agreement with Central Logistics Planning.
Calculate plant logistics costs for a carline project or logistic project in alignment with the Project Leader and coordinate them with Central Logistics Planning (e.g. for business plans, etc.).
Prepare and participate in industrial manufacture workshops in order to find overall solutions and to optimize cooperation between Logistics and Production.
Participate in defining the Logistics product structure, define rough packaging concepts and ensure industrialization according to the workshop concept.
Participate in the creation of Logistics specifications in alignment with the Supervisor to select logistics providers for the micro logistics.
Support with regards to the set up and supervision of Logistics functions (e.g. 3PL, etc.). Determine necessary storage/WH levels and storage options according to the standards/guidelines (high rack, marketplace, supermarket, JIS picking, block warehouse, AULA) and their regular optimization after changes.
Application of standard systems and standard planning tools for storage/WH levels, FIFO buffers, tugger train/line feeding planning and the necessary Kanban buffers. Participate in the definition of the production and logistics concepts in order to achieve lean logistics processes.
Contribute to the planning and optimization of timetables, delivery time window, ramp allocation and number of exchange trailers.
Determine logistic costs.
Lead complex Logistics projects.
Requirements:
Professional career: BD Industrial engineering, Mechanical engineering, Administration or similar. Relevant experience: 3-5 years working in the role in the automotive environment. Experience in Logistics planning, Logistic projects and material flow planning. Experience in project management and lean production.
English Business Level.
Technical knowledge:
Calculations for logistics projects/processes.
Design of Lean logistics concepts.
Leading of logistics planning projects.
Design software (AUTOCAD).
