The Warehouse / Logistics Assistant coordinates and executes the assigned warehouse and/or logistics activities and processes, ensuring operational management of logistical providers and/or internal employees (e.g.
warehouse staff, drivers) in line with specifications, orders, and safety policies.
This role is essential for safe, efficient, and effective material and equipment storage and flows, optimally supporting the OpCo's production, warehousing, and distribution processes to realize their objectives.
The Warehouse / Logistics Assistant is a support/execution role in the area of Logistics/Supply Chain, focusing on the administrative support and execution of the warehousing function or on logistics (outbound) transport, or a combination of both areas.
Depending on the size and structure of the logistics/warehousing function, the Warehouse / Logistics Assistant will report to the Warehouse & Logistics Manager, Warehouse Manager, or Transport/Logistics Manager, which will define the focus of the role.
In larger operations, the role may be more specialized, focusing on areas like stock control or transport planning.
In smaller OpCo's, the assistant may be required to handle various aspects of goods control and distribution, including driving a forklift when necessary.
Job Description:Inventory Management & Stock Control:(Re-)Orders materials and/or equipment where needed, registers these in the relevant databases/systems, provides input on supplier performance, and inspects, manages, and maintains materials, tools, and/or equipment on stock to ensure optimal availability for production and delivery.Inbound Goods and Storing:Coordinates the intake of incoming materials and/or equipment, checks and registers for quantity, damages, and completeness, organizes locations for unloading and storage, and ensures unloading/labeling of materials and/or equipment for storage at the defined location.Order Handling:Receives and processes orders from internal and external customers, selects, checks, packs, and distributes the required materials and/or equipment to ensure efficient, timely, and correct delivery.Outbound Goods and Transport Planning:Ensures that goods and materials are transport-ready, including dispatch/delivery papers and accompanying documents for drivers.Supports and/or provides input into routing and scheduling of vehicles based on customer records and requests.Arranges transportation for delivery of goods/materials to internal and external customers.Systems and Administration:Executes the administrative intake and distribution of materials and/or equipment in relevant systems, ensuring up-to-date administration for stock keeping and internal accounting.Customer Satisfaction:Manages customer relationships, ensuring that all requests are handled appropriately to maintain customer confidence and receive positive feedback.Continuous Improvement:Monitors, measures, benchmarks, and evaluates internal and external logistics processes, initiating changes and improvements for optimization.Compliance:Ensures compliance with all operating, safety, quality, risk, and health regulations.Other Duties:May perform a range of other warehouse/logistics support and administrative tasks and special project duties as assigned.Our Organisation:Trouw Nutrition is the global leader in innovative feed specialties, premixes, and nutritional services for the animal nutrition industry, providing species-specific nutritional solutions that boost productivity and support animal health.
