The Warehouse / Logistics Assistant coordinates and executes the assigned warehouse and/or logistics activities and processes, ensuring operational management of logistical providers and/or internal employees (e.g. warehouse staff, drivers) in line with specifications, orders, and safety policies. This role aims to ensure safe, efficient, and effective material and equipment storage and flows, optimally supporting the OpCo's production, warehousing, and distribution processes in realizing their objectives.The Warehouse / Logistics Assistant is a support/execution role in the area of Logistics/Supply Chain, focusing on the administrative support and execution of the warehousing function, logistics, (outbound) transport, or a combination of both areas.Typically, depending on the size and structure of the logistics/warehousing function, the Warehouse / Logistics Assistant will report to the Warehouse & Logistics Manager, Warehouse Manager, or Transport/Logistics Manager. This will also define the focus of the role. The larger the operation, the more specific the role of Warehouse / Logistics Assistant is likely to be, with a specialist focus on stock control, transport planning, etc. In smaller OpCo's, the business is more likely to require a Warehouse / Logistics Assistant to be an all-rounder, pitching in with all aspects of goods control and distribution, which may also include driving a forklift if work requires this.Job Description:Inventory management & stock control:(Re-)Orders materials and/or equipment where needed, registers these in the relevant databases/systems, provides input on supplier performance, and inspects, manages, and maintains materials, tools, and/or equipment in stock to ensure optimal availability for both production and delivery, as well as timely identification of bottlenecks in the logistics processes.Inbound goods and storing:Coordinates the intake of incoming materials and/or equipment, checks and registers for quantity, damages, and completeness, organizes unloading and storage locations, ensures unloading/labelling of materials, and ensures items are stored at the defined location/warehouse in the correct position. Checks the completeness and visual quality conformance of delivered materials and/or equipment to ensure readiness for efficient distribution to internal customers.Order handling:Receives and processes orders from (internal and external) customers, selects, checks, packs, and/or distributes the required materials and/or equipment to customers and the required location, either in cooperation with warehouse staff or directly, to ensure efficient, timely, and correct delivery.Outbound goods and transport planning scheduling:Ensures that goods and materials are transport-ready, including dispatch/delivery papers and accompanying documents for drivers, and coordinates transportation.Systems and Administration:Executes the administrative intake and distribution of materials and/or equipment in relevant systems, registers hours and other logistics administration to provide relevant reports to stakeholders, ensuring up-to-date administration and insight into availability and throughput of materials as a basis for stock keeping and internal accounting.Customer satisfaction:Manages customer relationships, ensuring all customer requests are handled appropriately to maintain customer confidence and achieve positive customer feedback.Continuous improvement:Monitors, measures, benchmarks, and evaluates internal and external logistics processes, tools, and systems, initiating and implementing changes to achieve continuous optimization.Compliance:Ensures compliance with all operating, safety, quality, risk, and health regulations.Other duties:May perform a wide range of other warehouse/logistics support and administrative tasks and special project duties as assigned.Our organisation:Trouw Nutrition is the global leader in innovative feed specialties, premixes, and nutritional services for the animal nutrition industry.
