Purpose of the Position: The Senior Cybersecurity Operations Officer will be responsible for managing the delivery of the Cybersecurity Operations capabilities and projects aligned with the strategy and roadmap. This role requires not only a strong foundation in technical knowledge (especially related to Cybersecurity Operations) but also an ability to communicate complex security topics to a non-technical audience, drive security awareness initiatives, and work collaboratively across diverse teams.
Main duties and responsibilities: Spearhead and guide key initiatives, including Security Operations Centre (SOC), enhancing team capabilities and performance.Provide expert mentorship to teams and stakeholders on Cybersecurity Operations, driving growth and operational excellence.Foster the development of team members while handling management duties such as performance reviews and leave approvals.Establish and review key performance indicators to measure and enhance the effectiveness of SOC.Work closely with the Chief, CSO to define and refine the functional and security requirements of Cybersecurity Operations tools, boosting threat detection and response.Collaborate with other Cybersecurity teams to embed robust security controls and capabilities across the organization.Prepare, review, and deliver comprehensive analysis and reports on Cybersecurity Operations activities, tailored to a diverse audience.Manage the day-to-day functions of SOC team, ensuring seamless and efficient operations.Define and lead the implementation of SOPs for the SOC team to optimize efficiency and reduce false positives.Develop and maintain advanced threat detection rules and use cases, strengthening the organization's detection and response measures.Generate detailed security reports, illustrating the organization's security posture and supporting specialized security evaluations.Collaborate in technical presales activities for Cybersecurity Operations, offering expert guidance and support.Provide other ad hoc support either within the team or in other teams as required.Recruitment Profile: Experience and Skills required: A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Cybersecurity Operations.Experience in Security Operations Centre (SOC) or as Security Incident Responder coordinator.Proficiency in various cybersecurity technologies related to SIEM, Microsoft Operating Systems, Network Security Concepts, EDR solutions, Vulnerability Management, Identity and Access Management, Cloud environments.Desirable: Experience in Cyber Threat Intelligence, including methodologies and frameworks.Experience in Cyber Threat Intelligence platform and tools.Experience with UN entities.Experience in optimization of Cyber Threat Intelligence processes or workflows.Demonstrated experience in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Education: Essential: Advanced university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Cyber Security.A first university degree and four (4) years of experience in Cybersecurity Operations may be accepted in lieu of a first university degree.At least one of the following technical certifications: CMS, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CSTA, CSTP, GCFE, OSCP, GCIH, GCIA, GPEN or other GIAC/similar certifications.Languages: English: Expert knowledge is required.Knowledge of another UN official language will be an advantage.Global Competencies: Teamwork: Develops and promotes effective relationships with colleagues and team members.Communicating: Expresses oneself clearly in conversations and interactions with others; listens actively.Respecting and promoting individual and cultural differences: Demonstrates the ability to work constructively with people of all backgrounds and orientations.Creating an empowering and motivating environment: Guides and motivates staff towards meeting challenges and achieving objectives.Building and promoting partnerships across the Organization and beyond: Develops and strengthens internal and external partnerships.Promoting UNICC's position: Positions UNICC as a leader in ICT services.Other Information: Compensation: Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate): Valencia (Spain), including post adjustment: US$ 105,781.
