Locum Consultant Radiologist Fixed Term (1 Year) NHS Lanarkshire invites applications for a Fixed Term (1 Year) Locum Consultant Diagnostic Radiologist to join our team of Consultant colleagues. The post will be based at University Hospital Hairmyres, one of three acute hospital sites in NHS Lanarkshire. The post is advertised at full-time 10 PA. We would also welcome applications if wishing to work less than full time. 2EPAs may be available by mutual consent, The successful applicants will contribute to an evening (until 6pm) and weekend daytime on call for general plain film, USS and CT (frequency of on-call being 1:12). Outside these hours the on-call is outsourced with a "second-on" on-call rota of local radiologists maintained in case of IT issues. Though this is a general radiology posts, we would particularly encourage applicants with subspecialty interests inRespiratory, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, MSK or Breast imaging. An interest in performing image guided procedures (in particular diagnostic biopsies) and non-vascular intervention would also be most welcome. The successful applicant would be welcomed into the Pan-Lanarkshire service but by being site based, you will join a very supportive team of friendly hard working colleagues who work closely to deliver care to the patients of North and South Lanarkshire. Lanarkshire is part of the West of Scotland Clinical Network and the majority of the MDTs work closely with Regional Cancer MDTs. Involvement in MDTs is strongly encouraged. Each hospital has strong links with Glasgow University and the University of Strathclyde. Under- and post-graduate education is an important part of the posts and many consultants are honorary Senior Lecturers at Glasgow University. NHS Lanarkshire is situated to the east, south and south-west of Glasgow. As a result, it benefits its proximity to Scotland's largest City and the Leisure, Sport and Entertainment opportunities this brings. However, it is also includes the beautiful Clyde Valley. The coast is nearby to West, Edinburgh is easily reached to the East, the Trossach's National Park to the north or the Scottish Borders to the South. Glasgow, Prestwick and Edinburgh Airports are also within easy reach. Good schools and comparatively affordable housing are available nearby.
