Locum Consultant Histopathologist
NHS Lanarkshire is seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant Histopathologist for a fixed term of 1 year to join the current team of 17 substantive consultants and 1 locum consultant, based at University Hospital Monklands. NHS Lanarkshire Pathology services cover University Hospital Monklands, University Hospital Wishaw and University Hospital Hairmyres, in addition to receiving samples from the wider community.
Monklands is a young, friendly and dynamic department with strong training links and active participation in research and development, we also engage in a variety of clinical trial participation. We work a part sub-specialist reporting rota and use a modification of the 'Warwick' work scoring system which allows for varied and flexible working patterns. We have recently introduced digital pathology reporting.
We are seeking to appoint a locum consultant with a wide interest in histopathology and job planning will be flexible based on the interests of the successful candidate and current departmental needs.
Monklands lies within easy commuting distance from both Glasgow and Edinburgh and central Scotland.
The University of Glasgow enjoys close links with NHS Lanarkshire, and our medical students benefit greatly from the excellent educational opportunities provided by the board in both primary and secondary care.
