ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM: As a Graduate Data Scientist, you will join the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team and will be responsible for leveraging data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making, optimize financial performance, and drive business growth.
WHAT YOU WILL DO: Data Analysis and Modeling: Collect, clean, and preprocess financial and operational data from various sources.
Develop predictive models, forecasting algorithms, and statistical analyses to support financial planning and performance evaluation.
Perform scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to assess the impact of different variables on financial outcomes.
Identify trends, patterns, and correlations within the data to generate actionable insights.Financial Planning & Forecasting: Collaborate with FP&A team members to develop comprehensive financial forecasts, budgets, and long-range plans.
Provide data-driven recommendations to improve forecast accuracy and identify opportunities for cost optimization or revenue enhancement.
Evaluate the financial implications of strategic initiatives, investments, and business decisions.Business Intelligence and Reporting: Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to communicate key financial metrics and performance indicators.
Conduct ad-hoc analyses and generate custom reports to address specific business questions or concerns.
Automate routine reporting processes to improve efficiency and scalability.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, accounting, operations, and other departments to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
Partner with business leaders to assess the financial impact of proposed projects or initiatives.
Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including executives and non-technical teams.Continuous Learning and Development: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data science, finance, and FP&A.
Enhance technical skills through training, certifications, and participation in relevant professional communities.
Actively contribute to the growth and development of the FP&A team by sharing knowledge and insights with colleagues.Qualifications: Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or related field.Understanding of financial concepts, accounting principles, and financial modeling techniques.Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data visualization best practices.Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, SQL and with data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
