Milliman Madrid is looking for an actuarial and financial risk consultant, with extended consulting as well as managerial experience in Life insurance.
You will bring your own unique experience, which will help you to further develop within our organization.
We expect you to lead or execute consulting assignments and play an active role in growing our business.
You are the expert in your field and able to manage projects and client relations.
Further, you are willing to invest in yourself as well as in your colleagues.
The Madrid office works with a wide range of clients and performs a variety of projects, including: IFRS17, Solvency II, Economic Valuation, Due Diligence, M&A, implementation of actuarial and financial models to support our clients' valuation, product development, and actuarial studies.
The Senior Consultant will participate in a wide variety of these consulting projects, with the opportunity to participate in international projects, working together with the most talented consultants in the Life insurance sector, both in Spain and internationally.
You will participate in the most innovative actuarial projects where you can make the most of your creativity, as well as your ability to analyse data, draw conclusions and present results to your colleagues and clients.
These experiences will help you to develop your technical knowledge and general industry experience while strongly benefiting from one of the most comprehensive actuarial training and development programmes in the industry.
Responsibilities Senior Consultants are responsible, among others, for: Structuring, validating and/or performing the required calculations for client projects delegating certain tasks to consultants.
Using previous experience (e.g., actuarial and economic valuation, IFRS17, Solvency II, pricing or reserving) to guide more junior staff in the team and perform reasonable checks on results.
Actively contributes to supporting more senior staff in the preparation of client deliverables.
Participating effectively in client meetings.
Actively participating in Research and Development (R&D) to improve/develop internal knowledge of the firm to maintain our competitive advantage in the market place.
Availability to travel as needed.
What we look for Skills & Attributes Educational Requirements: An undergraduate degree pursuing actuarial science, mathematics, or another major with quantitative course work.
Experience and skills: - Minimum 5 years of actuarial experience in Life business.
- Has been a key team member in relevant actuarial and financial projects (e.g., modelling, valuation, Solvency II, capital, IFRS17, provisioning, pricing).
- Experience in client communication activities related to these projects.
- High proficiency in Excel / VBA.
- Experience in actuarial, financial and pricing software or modelling will be regarded highly (e.g., Prophet, R3S, MoSes / RiskAgility FM, MG-ALFA and Integrate).
Prophet suite experience will be an advantage.
- Experience in data analysis and data tools will be highly regarded (e.g., PowerBI, R, SQL, SAS, Python, Tableau, MATLAB, C++).
- Development and analysis of experience studies and actuarial assumptions.
- Development of ALM models for dynamic asset-liability management, calculation of time value of financial options and guarantees calculations, and in-depth understanding of local regulatory ALM.
General skills: - Superior mathematical aptitude and strong analytical ability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability and willingness to clearly articulate ideas.
